    Helmet is marked: 金川 116
    金川 is a surname which means Kanagawa. It is different from the city named Kanagawa. It means:
    金= gold
    川= river
    Having the surname fully intact is rare, as soldiers who surrendered or knew they were about to die would scratch the name off the best they could with a knife.
    This means that more than likely Mr. Kanagawa died in battle, due to the name still being intact. That would line up with the story I was told, that the helmet was brought back from the war as a war souvenir.
    The star is still attached, as well as all three original hooks inside.
    The helmet is fully original, and has rust. (Please examine all photos closely. It is the exact helmet you will receive.)
    This is the normal size, which is actually more uncommon than the big version. There seems to be a lot of the big ones on here. You can tell this is one of the normal sized helmets, by the lack of 大 in the helmet, which means “big”.
    Approximately:
    10 3/4” front to back
    10 1/4”Side to side
